South West Beef

The South West Beef event was held at Hatherleigh Market in Devon (7 September). It was a very well attended show, with about 3500 beef breeders and suppliers supporting a very well run event.

Murray Greys took a stand which was manned by Rosemary Kent and Peter Harris. Audrey and John Cullen very kindly sent a pure bred cow with a Simmental calf at foot. They showed what the cattle can do when used as a commercial suckler cow. They were the subject of a good deal of positive comment. It was good to be able to show off the breed to an audience made up of beef farmers.

The Society have now attended two of these events this year and it is raising the profile of Murray Greys with a wider commercial market. We look to continuing with this idea next year.
