Beef Expo 06

Friday 2 June saw a Murray Grey cow and calf exhibited by Bill and Judith Woolley at Beef Expo 06. This specialist Beef Cattle Exhibition was held at Carlisle Market. It was a large event attended by beef farmers from all over the UK. There were cattle from 24 other breeds present so it was good for Murray Greys to be present at this type of event. We received a good deal of interest particularly about Breedplan recording and GeneSTAR testing, this puts us on a par with most other breeds in spite of the smaller number of breeding females we have registered. The Woolleys were enthusiastically supported by our Administrator Rosemary Kent and Peter Harris. We have a number of leads to follow up from prospective breeders.
