The
Society had its usual strong entry of cattle for the show with animals from 7
members. Unfortunately Lin Roberts was not able to bring her stock.
Judith Woolley again won Breed Champion with her now 2 year old heifer, if she brings it out next as a Cow and wins it will be something of a record. Otter and Co were Reserve Champion with their young Bull. I hope this is a sign that good quality young stock are now coming through into the breed.
We were judged by Ian Macdonald the Agriculture Minister from New South Wales. He was very complimentary about our stock. We felt we were at the heart of world agricultural affairs, when our Agriculture Minister Lord Bach held up judging to talk to Ian Macdonald for 10 to 15 minutes in our judging ring.
We had our usual Barbecue in the evening of showing day. This was organised by Judith Woolley and Lin Roberts with help from many other members. This is always a time for us to all get together with friends and enthusiasts of the breed.
